How to make a peony flower from corrugated paper. DIY paper peonies. Made from corrugated and plain paper. Master Class

Today, crafts made from corrugated paper are becoming increasingly popular. This can be easily explained by the rather simple technique of execution and the originality of the finished products. How to make a peony from corrugated paper with your own hands? There are quite a lot of techniques for making it. They are all quite simple, and the result is a beautiful and delicate flower.

What is corrugated paper?

The earliest mention of crepe paper appeared in 1865 in England, where it was used as a lining for hats. Nowadays, this material has found quite wide application. Paper with larger corrugation is used to create packaging. But paper with fine corrugation (also called crepe paper) is ideal for creativity.

Recently, making flowers from corrugated paper has become especially popular. They are used as room decoration, for gift wrapping, moreover, this is a great way to spend time with your child and make something bright and original.

The legend of the peony

The ancient Greeks greatly appreciated this flower for its beauty and medicinal properties. They even have a legend that the young man Pion, a capable student of the famous physician Aesculapius, once healed the ruler of the other world, Pluto, who was wounded by Hercules himself. This fact instilled envious anger into the soul of Aesculapius, and he decided to kill the young man. But Pluto, having learned about the bad intentions of Aesculapius, did not let the young man die - he turned him into a beautiful flower, endowed with healing properties. Since then, people began to call it peony in honor of the talented young man.

And today we will try to make this flower from corrugated paper with our own hands in several ways.

As already mentioned, there are several ways to make a peony from crepe paper. Let's take a closer look at some of them.

First way

  • corrugated paper of two colors (in our case, pink paper was used for the peony, but you can choose the tone at your discretion);
  • scissors and glue;
  • brown floral ribbon;
  • wire for stems.

Candy bouquets are a popular hobby. In this master class we will try to make a peony from corrugated paper with our own hands with a candy inside. One such bud can be given as a compliment, but a bouquet of several flowers will look much more interesting. Combine paper of different shades and create beautiful compositions to suit your taste.

Required tools and materials

For work, we will need corrugated paper of pale pink, burgundy or white colors for the petals, yellow for the center and light green for the sepals. The height of the petals largely depends on what kind of candy you choose for the center. If it is large, then the length of the paper pieces will need to be increased. From paper for the petals, cut rectangles 2.5 cm wide and 7.5 cm long - this size is suitable if you choose a regular caramel for the center. We will make the peony bud from corrugated paper closed, and it will not be visible. We cut the green paper into rectangles 1 cm wide and 8 cm long. For the stem, you can use floral tape of the same color or cut the paper into pieces 1 cm wide and about 20 cm long. It can be stretched to increase the size. We will make the core from yellow paper 10 cm wide and 7.5 cm high. You will also need thick wire, candy, a glue gun, tape and scissors.

Making the flower center

We begin making a peony from corrugated paper with our own hands by creating the middle. We take a yellow rectangle and cut it into a fence, not cutting about 1 cm to the end. Then we take scissors and begin to draw along the ends with twisting movements, pulling the paper and bending them in one direction. Stretch the paper to the sides, straightening out the folds. Now take the candy and wind the wire around it, making a loop at one end. We secure the tail with tape so that it does not dangle. We wrap it tightly so that the candy does not move.

Master class “Peony made of corrugated paper”

Turn on the glue gun so that it heats up. Then we apply a little hot glue to the tip of the candy wrapped in tape and begin to wrap the yellow crepe paper so that the folded ends completely cover it. We twist the wire, applying a little glue and pulling the workpiece. We corrected them so that they were all directed in one direction. Press the paper tightly so that the leg is not too thick. Then we cup the loose ends with our palms and squeeze them to close the central part. We straighten the heavily crumpled parts, giving them a beautiful shape, and set the workpiece aside.

Making petals for peony

For a large corrugated paper peony you need to prepare 21 petals. You can use a smaller amount, but then the bud will not be as large. It is not advisable to take less than 18 pieces. We make the blanks: we cut off the corners at the bottom, forming a long leg, and move upward, creating a wavy edge. There should be 3-4 cloves at the top. We cut approximately 4 mm deep. In this way we make 21 petals. Next, we take scissors and begin to pull the edges down in the same way as we twisted the yellow paper. Now you need to grab the very edge of the petal with your fingers and twist it, and then release it and stretch the paper in the center to the sides, creating a curved shape. We repeat all the steps on the remaining petals, twisting the edges and stretching the middle to the sides. It's okay if they don't turn out the same - this will give the corrugated paper peony flowers a more natural and lush look.

How to collect a peony bud?

Let's start assembling the flower. We take the wire with the middle and start gluing the petals. Apply a drop of glue to the bottom of the yellow base and glue the first leaf so that it covers the middle. We stick the next petal overlapping the previous one, moving it slightly to the side. Glue all the petals, moving in a circle. At the very end, you can see how they lay down and make additional leaves if it seems to you that they are missing somewhere. Focus on the size of the candy and your taste when creating a peony from corrugated paper with your own hands to get the optimal shape and size of the inflorescence. This material is quite pliable and if you see any flaw, it will be easy to correct.

Making sepals

Now you need to make the sepals. Large crepe paper peonies require more leaves than small ones. In our case, we will make 9 pieces. We take green corrugated paper and, if there is a strip on the workpiece, turn it so that it is at the bottom. We make a wide leg, and cut off the top so as to get a sharp tip. We twist the top and stretch the leg a little to the sides. We also stretch the middle to the sides, as in the case of the petal. Straighten the resulting sepal and break it off to the side. Now take a glue gun and glue two sepals on opposite sides. Then we glue two more. Having outlined the four main ones, we begin to add leaves between them. We move the ninth one a little to the side to get a more natural look.

Tightening the flower stem

We proceed to the final stage of making the flower - designing the stem. A peony made by yourself from corrugated paper will look more interesting if there is additional thickening under the sepals, so first we wrap the tape more tightly, and then we begin to stretch it. We smoothly go down, covering the entire surface with tape. Periodically apply glue and seal the edge well at the very bottom of the leg. The flower is ready. This concludes our master class “Peony made of corrugated paper”.

Gorgeous DIY paper peony.

Homemade paper peony. Master Class.

This luxurious peony, made of corrugated paper, will be within your control, dear readers, if you study the master class posted on this page :)

Agree, such flowers look very realistic. Can you imagine how you can decorate your interior with them?!

Let's explore a master class of these incredibly beautiful peonies!

See what you'll need for this project.

You will also need a papier-mâché ball. To do this, you need to cover the balloon with paper in three layers with intermediate drying. And for glue, use a homemade paste made from flour and water 1:1.

Now learn about the unusual trick of this project in creating a base for a peony :)
If you look at a peony, its inner petals are more recessed in relation to the outer large petals.

To create this indentation, use a piece of the bottom of a papier-mâché ball about 2 1/2".

Using a needle and thread, finish the edge of the cut with stitches, as shown in the picture.

Now let's talk about the petals.

To create a variety of peony petals you will need crepe paper. You can now see the sizes and shapes of the petals on the screen.

and further. In total, the peony has 7 types of different petals.

Now learn the technique of forming the three-dimensional shape of the petals.

In the very center of the petal we stretch the corrugated paper. And bend the base of the petal inward, as shown in the picture.

Let's take a closer look at the formation of each petal.

Petal No. 1:

Petal No. 1 is used for the center of the peony. We connect the base of the petal by squeezing the base and fixing it with hot glue, retreating a centimeter from the edge of the base. Wrap the second petal around the first as shown. in the picture Glue it in the very center of the concave shape using hot glue.

So, the very center of the peony flower is already in place :) So that this semicircular shape does not walk around the table. like a tumbler - place it for convenience in a bowl of a suitable diameter.

We continue to wrap the centering with petals, slightly stretching the middle of them, and folding the base of the petal towards each other.

Cover the edge of the cut with corrugated paper too, so that everything is aesthetically pleasing :)

Petal No. 2-5:

We continue to glue the formed petals in the direction from the center and spirally around the circumference, using as they emerge from the deep base from the smaller petal size to the larger one. 8 petals of each type. We bend the base of each petal and place it on the backing with hot glue.

Petal No. 6:

We begin to glue these petals (4 - 5 pieces) on the outer side of the base semicircle, slightly stretching the very edge of the petal in the middle. Glue it with hot glue as shown in the picture. The petals are glued slightly overlapping each other.

It’s already turning out very nice, isn’t it? :)

Since the craftswoman was making a hat from a flower, she used an additional fragment of a papier-mâché ball, which she glued to the base of the flower, as shown in the picture.

For this she used approximately 3-4" from the end of the cut.

Petal No. 7:

We glue five petals sequentially onto the base, first giving them a wavy shape.

You will need:

    corrugated paper for petals;

    balloon;

    glue gun;

  • thick thread or cord;

  • wire;

    set of metal eyelets;

  • office glue;

    masking tape;

Progress

1. Inflate the balloon so that its diameter is about 25 cm. Cover the balloon with newspaper using the papier-mâché method.

2. When the newspaper has dried well, cut the sphere into 3 parts (a wide “belt” and 2 “tops”), as in the photo. We will no longer need the lower part where the balloon tie was.

3. Connect the resulting parts so that the smaller part is inside the structure. It will become the basis of a giant flower for a photo shoot.

4. Secure the edges by sewing thread over the edge.

5. For strength, treat the edge with hot glue.

6. Cover the seam with masking tape.

7. Take care of reliable fastenings - punch holes with grommets and stretch a wire from which you can hang the flower.

8. Below are the petal templates that will be used to create the giant flower for the photo shoot. Transfer them to cardboard and cut them out. Then use corrugated paper to prepare the indicated number of petals of each type.

No. 2 - 18 pcs.

No. 3 - 20 pcs.

No. 4 - 15 pcs.

No. 5 - 12 pcs.

No. 6 - 12 pcs.

No. 9 - 20 pcs.

No. 10 - 15 pcs.

9. To make the petals voluminous, stretch them a little at the widest part.

10. Grease the base of petal number 10 with hot glue (use only 8 pieces in this row).

11. Attach it to the inside of a giant flower frame for a photo shoot.

Glue the second and third petals in the same way as in the photo. Here you can clearly see how they should overlap each other and look from the outside.

13. Smear the base of the petal and squeeze it.

14. Glue petals No. 2. Place some of them lower, others a little higher. This way you will give the giant flower for a photo shoot a natural look.

16. The third row should be 1-1.5 cm lower than the previous one. Petals No. 3 are glued even more randomly.

17. Glue petals No. 4 using the same principle as petals No. 3. When you finish this row, the giant flower for the photo shoot will be almost ready.

18. Petals No. 5 and 6 are used.

19. Place an orange paper center in the center.

20. Now take petals No. 7. Give their edges a curl by stretching them.

21. To cup the petals, pinch them at the base.

22. Glue them along the outer edge of the frame to hide it.

23. Do the same with petals No. 8 and 9, lowering the level of each subsequent row.

24. Glue the remaining petals No. 10 as shown in the photo. This will completely hide the structure from the newspaper.

Delicate and sophisticated spring DIY peonies you can do it using paper and corrugated paper, satin ribbons and synthetic fabric. If you have a personal plot, then be sure to plant several peony bushes on it, which will fill your house with their unsurpassed aroma in the spring. Using paper, you can create with your children, because during the summer holidays schoolchildren have a lot of free time, which can be spent on mastering new creative techniques.

DIY peony made from satin ribbons

Ribbons can make incredible beauty peony by hand, master class will describe to you in detail all the stages of completing this craft. To make the bud look more natural, you need to choose ribbons of three similar shades, giving preference to bright, rich tones of the red palette. These are the soft pink or deep red buds that bloom in the wild, but you can create flowers of any shade with your own hands so that such a bouquet fits perfectly into the interior of your home.

Recently, it has become very popular to decorate weddings with homemade elements, for example, those created with your own hands from textiles, ribbons and paper. Peonies can also become part of the wedding decor, and buds can be added to the original bride’s bouquet.

To do DIY ribbon peony, we will need ribbons 5 cm wide, which must be cut into pieces 4 cm long. For one flower you will need 36 such blanks, 4 cm each. If desired, you can make the six central petals a darker color, and the outer petals lighter.

The petals can be given a more fancy shape, for example, making their edge wavy, but we decided to cut all the blanks for the petals according to the usual pattern - in a semicircle, because in the process of melting over a candle flame, each petal will take on its own unique shape. We leave it to you to choose for yourself what shape of petals you will cut using a satin blank.

In order to melt the edges, you will need a candle: first, over the fire, you need to melt the edges of the petals so that they do not fall off, and then warm them up, and use your fingers to give them a wavy shape. During the heating process, you will notice that the satin will be deformed, folded inside out, and as a result you will get a natural blank for the petal. When you do, always pay attention to the processing of the edges, otherwise they will crumble. The easiest way to process the edge of the ribbon is to carefully melt it over a candle, holding it with tweezers so as not to burn your fingers.

In addition to the petals, you need to make the middle, it should be a dark shade: you should cut a square with a side of 5 cm from a satin ribbon, stitch the workpiece in a circle using hand stitches, and put a ball of cotton wool or padding polyester inside, then pull the thread. Now you have a ball that will act as a core around which the petals will be located.

When all the blanks are ready, you can start collecting DIY peony made from satin ribbons. 6 petals for the middle should be strung on a thread, then sewn to the core and pulled together. The remaining petals will be of a lighter tone; they must be sewn in layers to the resulting middle. The more layers you make, the more lush and voluminous your bud will be. When you gain experience, you can use glue instead of threads, with which the petals will be attached to the core.

Ready-made lush flowers can be attached to the stem or decorated with them in a flower basket. The buds can also be used to create jewelry: hairpins and brooches. And if you are making it for your daughter, then with the help of such satin flowers you can make a beautiful wreath on your head, fixing them on the headband.

How to make peonies with your own hands

It turns out to be unique DIY fabric peony, for which you can use textiles with any texture and pattern: from light, weightless, almost transparent to rough and dense.

In this case, we will not just take the fabric from which we will cut the petals, but also dye it in the color we need, thus, from one piece of white fabric we can get peonies of a wide variety of color shades by painting them with paints.

The fabric must be synthetic, lightweight, in this case we used white. Scissors for work must be sharp in order to carefully cut the fabric without leaving fringe behind.

First, we will make patterns for the blanks, which we will then transfer to fabric folded in several layers, so you should prepare several sheets of white paper for the pattern. You can also lay the paper on the work surface so as not to stain it with paints while painting. Acrylic paints should be used; you will also need glue, a candle and matches, and wire for the stems.

DIY fabric peony

In the master class, how to make peonies with your own hands, we will need blanks of different sizes to make the flower voluminous and beautiful. First of all, we will draw three patterns, as shown in the picture: small - 5 cm, medium - 7 cm, large - 9 cm in diameter. Try to make all the petals symmetrical, however, even if the patterns are slightly asymmetrical, this will not be noticeable at all in the finished work.

Thin synthetic fabric can be folded in several layers and pinned together, then traced along the outline of the pattern. For one flower you need to cut out four large blanks, six medium ones and six small ones for a dense center. If you want to decorate the middle of the flower with pearls, then cut out only four blanks for it, then it will turn out less dense.

First, you need to use a brush moistened with water to walk along the edge of each workpiece, and color can be applied to the moistened pattern. To get the desired color, you can dilute the paint on the palette.

Painted blanks that have already dried can be cut out, and the edges must be processed over a candle. The edges of the workpieces must be melted carefully, without bringing the fabric close to the flame, otherwise their edges will turn black.

If you want to issue DIY bouquet of peonies, then in addition to the flower itself, you need to make stems with leaves. For the stems you will need floral wire, and for the leaves you will need to dye white fabric green. The finished leaves should also be processed over a candle flame, and with the help of a heated knife you can make veins on the leaves. The leaves should be glued to the stem using synthetic glue.

DIY paper peonies

Can be used to decorate your home DIY corrugated paper peonies, they can be made in any size and in any color palette. In one paper bouquet you can combine peonies of different colors, as well as add other paper flowers to the composition. In addition to lush flowers, the bouquet may also contain unopened buds.

We will make a soft pink peony, so first you need to go to the store and buy a roll of corrugation. For the leaves you will need plain green paper. To form the stem, you will need 20 cm of wire, green tape, and during the process - a glue stick and scissors.

For the stem, you need to wrap the wire with tape, fixing the tip with glue. Then you need to glue two leaves cut from colored green paper onto the stem. After the stem is ready, you can proceed to the main stage of the craft - directly to the lush peony flower.

DIY paper peonies collected from separately cut petals. First, the corrugation should be cut into wide strips, a strip of about 80 cm should be folded several times and wide petals should be cut, which will be used to form the lower part of our flower. In the same way, you need to cut out the medium and very small petals, which will be located near the middle. You can see in our photo master class what shape the petals should be.

To make the middle, you need to roll a ball from a corrugated strip; this ball should have a small leg left, which must be glued to the tip of the stem and wrapped with tape.

Each petal needs to be stretched a little with your fingers to give them a realistic concave shape. You should also stretch the edges of the petals with your fingers so that they become wavy, thus making the flower itself more magnificent.

Starting from the middle, it is necessary to fix all the prepared petals: the smallest ones are located near the middle, then the middle ones, and the largest ones will be the last layer.

Instead of the middle, you can use a round candy, and this will be the best holiday surprise for a friend.

DIY peony stand

Once you see blooming peonies, it is impossible not to fall in love with them. In garden conditions, they grow in large bushes, on which large, fluffy buds bloom in April-May. Homemade flowers made using textiles or paper will allow you to enjoy beauty throughout the year in winter and autumn, but to decorate your garden in spring, you should definitely plant several peony bushes. In addition, they are completely unpretentious in care, but to prevent the bush from creeping along the ground, you will need DIY peony stand.

A similar stand can be used in garden design and for decorating other bush plants. To create such a stand, you must use aluminum tubes or metal rods. It consists of three legs and a circle, so the stand securely fixes the bush and its branches grow upward, rather than spreading along the ground under the weight of the buds.

To create a stand, you can use a thin metal-plastic water pipe. To make legs from a pipe, you need to cut it into pieces, and drive wooden choppers inside on both sides; they are necessary to screw self-tapping screws into the wood to fix the upper and lower circle of the stand on the legs. To make a circle of the required diameter from a metal-plastic pipe, you can bend it around a hemp or bucket, and then fasten the edges.

The finished stand can be painted green so that it does not stand out in the photo of the green garden.
