Yuri Shatunov autobiography. Interesting facts about Yuri Shatunov

Yuri Shatunov is an artist who, probably, does not need our representations. As a soloist of the band "Tender May", he traveled to many cities of the former USSR, and also became a real idol to millions of people in various parts of the newly formed Commonwealth of Independent States.

The soloist of the band "Tender May" Yuri Shatunov

Once the voice of this talented performer sounded from every receiver, television or tape recorder throughout the former Soviet Union. Shatunov's posters hung in every room of every Russian teenager.

But what happened to the cult artist after the collapse of the band "Tender May"? What is remarkable about the life and career of the first Soviet pop idol? You can find answers to all these questions in the framework of our article today.

The early years of Yuri Shatunov: “Affectionate May”

The childhood and early youth of Yura Shatunov were full of bitter disappointments. His own father - Vasily Dmitrievich Klimenko - did not show any interest in him after the appearance of his son. And therefore, from an early age, all the hardships associated with raising a son fell on the shoulders of his mother - Vera Gavrilovna Shatunova. However, her life was tragically cut short when the future singer was still a child.

Left without parental care, little Yura lived for some time in the house of his own aunt, but life did not ask there either. So already at the age of eleven, our today's hero found himself in the Akbulaksky orphanage, and then in Orenburg boarding school No. 2.

There, in the Urals, the future leader of the “Tender May” group met with the head of the music club Sergei Kuznetsov. It was he who first discerned creative talent in a young guy. Some time later, they recorded their first musical compositions together and performed in a local recreation center. Some time later, other members joined the group - Sergey Serkov and Vyacheslav Ponomarev. Thus, the first composition of the “Tender May” group was created, which subsequently underwent changes several times.

At that time, the group was not yet popular, however, it already had several real hits in its repertoire, including the legendary White Roses. It was this song that once attracted the attention of the then Minister of Culture of the USSR and the manager of the Record studio Andrei Razin.

In 1988, he set out to find the guy who performed this composition, but the search was much longer than he had initially thought. The thing is that Yuri Shatunov was on the run at that time and was outside the walls of his boarding school. Only a few months later, Andrei Razin, with the active support of Sergei Kuznetsov, managed to find the young singer. Shatunov arrived in Moscow and already there joined the new composition of the “Tender May” group, which at that time had already been created at the Record studio.

"White roses". Olympic, 1991

Thus, in 1988, the group began active touring activities. Concerts of the band were held in all major cities of the former USSR. The hits of "Tender May" were played one after another by all the leading radio stations of the Soviet Union, and then by the CIS.

The phenomenon of the collective’s popularity is still being actively discussed in the circle of recognized masters of Russian show business. Someone explains his talent Shatunov, someone says that the skillful leadership of Andrei Razin played a central role in the success. However, it is difficult to deny that each of these artists has contributed to the formation of the collective and its further promotion.

In our biographical article, we deliberately decided to focus specifically on the work of Yuri Shatunov, and therefore we will deliberately leave all questions regarding the existence of the “Tender May” group out of brackets. Instead, we note only the fact that in the composition of the named group our today's hero performed for four years (from 1988 to 1992), becoming during this time the idols of teenagers throughout the Soviet Union.

“That ended May ...”: Shatunov’s solo career

After parting with the former team, Yuri Shatunov began a solo career, but the period of the nineties was not the most favorable time for creativity. Despite this, in 1992, the young singer managed to record and release an album with the meaningful title "That May Is Over ...". Several compositions from this disc were presented at Alla Pugacheva’s “Christmas Meetings”. But after that, a strip of tests began in the career of the artist.

Yuri Shatunov - A summer of color ...

In 1993, in the eyes of Shatunov, his long-time friend, musician Mikhail Sukhomlinov, was shot dead. After that, just six months later, the presentation of the artist's second “solo album” took place - the album “Do You Remember”. This disc was not the most successful financially. It was after her that rumors spread in the world of Russian show business that the popularity of Shatunov was slowly waning.

He also did not correct the situation of the remix album - “Artificial respiration”. But that was far from all. In 1999, it became clear that the recorded musical material, on which the artist worked for a long time, was illegally published in Germany and actually stolen.

After this, a long series of trials, which took place mainly in the courts of Munich, was drawn. At that time, Yura Shatunov spent a lot of time in Germany, and very soon he received the citizenship of this state.

In 2001, the artist recorded the album “Remember May”, which actually marked a long farewell of the artist to his former homeland. After the release of the record, Shatunov disappeared from the field of view of Russian fans for a long time.

Yura Shatunov now

Only in 2009, the artist again went with concerts to the cities of Russia. The reason for returning to the Russian Federation was the release of the feature film "Tender May", which spoke about the fate of the legendary group.

In 2010, the singer starred in the TV series “Happy Together,” and after that introduced to the public several new compositions. New tracks began to appear on the air of Russian radio stations also in 2011. A year later, Yuri Shatunov presented to the public his new album - "I Believe." How successful will be the release of the record - time will tell.

Personal life of Yura Shatunov

In 2007, Yuri Shatunov married a girl named Svetlana, whom she had previously met for about seven years. In 2006, the son of Denis appeared in the family of a pop artist (born 2006). The baptism of a child took place in Sochi. The godfather of the child was the former director of Tender May, Andrei Razin.

In 2013, Yuri Shatunov also had a daughter, Estella. Currently, the whole family lives in Germany.

Today, September 6, the idol of millions, Yuri Shatunov, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. For this momentous event, we decided to recall the most striking facts from the singer’s biography.

1. Many years ago, when Shatunov was not yet married, at one of the parties, he announced that he saw only Alsou as his wife, and had long been in love with her. They say that he even came to the house of Ralif Safin to ask for the hand of his daughter. However, on the threshold he was met by the singer’s mother, and Yuri was immediately refused. The motivation was strange: Alsou's mother said that the girl was not going to get married until she was 25 years old.

2.   Shatunov said many times in an interview that when “Tender May” was at the peak of popularity, there were about twelve other “fake” groups that toured all over the country. Unfortunately, Andrei Razin could not stop this disgrace, because the legislation in this area did not work. By the way, Yuri made his first recordings in 1986 with Sergei Kuznetsov, whom he met at a boarding school.

3.   When Razin in all interviews boasted that he and his group earn as much per day as ordinary people per year, Shatunov and the other participants in Tender May had a very hard time. Such scandalous fame was not in the hands of the guys - they were forced to hide from the racketeers. Armed gangs came to them several times and demanded money. Even after the breakup of the group, Yuri received serious threats. Once he got into a shootout. In fact, only one person in the group earned millions - Andrei Razin, and all the other guys were content with handouts from him.

4.   Shatunov is not the real name of the singer. Yura Shatko was born in Kumertau, and the artist's early childhood was spent in the tiny village of Savelyevka, which is located several kilometers from the city. When he was eight, his mother died, and an aunt took up Shatunov’s upbringing. However, four years later she sent Yura to an orphanage.

5.   Now Yuri lives with his wife in Germany. In 2006, their son Dennis was born, and in March of this year, Svetlana gave the singer a daughter, who was called Estella. The singer was personally present at the birth. Shatunov sometimes comes to Russia if he is invited to participate in some event, but in Russia he is now only a guest. In the German city of Bad Homburg, he is doing well - Yuri is in business.

6. After the collapse of the group, Shatunov did not have millions of capital. Talking that he is the owner of a luxury mansion in Sochi and a restaurant chain is complete nonsense. Shatunov himself says that these gossip was composed by Razin. A few years ago, Yuri still decided to file a lawsuit in order to take away from Razin everything that was rightfully due to him. Razin did not even resist and paid the singer about ten million dollars. With this money, Shatunov was able to open his own business. After the trial, he no longer clashed with Razin and said that his youth and his success were connected with this man. Of course, they did not remain friends, but sometimes they still meet to have dinner or to participate in some program.

7.   When the entire female half of the country went crazy over Shatunov, he did not have his own car. If he was late somewhere, then he could go down the subway rather than take a taxi. The singer says that such trips were very painful. Almost every second people approached him and asked if he was Yura Shatunov? Now the singer moves exclusively in his own car and admits that they even rarely recognized him in public places, although his appearance has not changed much since the early nineties.

8.   After a performance in 1986 at a disco in a boarding school, Yuri writes several songs with Kuznetsov, and a year and a half later a debut album with the hit “White Roses” appears. The song gets to Orenburg at a recording studio, and within a few days Shatunov becomes famous. Soon the tape gets to Razin, who decides to create a youth group. Almost by force, Razin transported Shatunov to a Moscow boarding school, and a week later the guys started a tour. A year later, the group "Tender May" knows the whole country.

Yuri Shatunov - biography

In the late 80s, Yuri Shatunov and the band “Tender May” with their songs blew up all the music venues of the USSR. 8 concerts a day and 40 a week - rarely anyone managed to achieve such popularity! Meanwhile, the path to fame Jura began from the orphanage ...

Yura Shatunov - childhood: Nobody needs

Yura Shatunov’s childhood biography cannot be called happy ...
Parents probably married too early - mother was 18, father 23. It was not interesting for father Vasily Klimenko to take care of a child who was born very soon on September 6, 1973: he even refused to write his son in his last name, so Yuri received his mother's last name.

Yura was given to grandparents. However, the marriage of the parents did not last long - they broke up after three years of marriage. Mom took Yura and they left for the village. There, Yura first performed in public - at a local wedding he sang to the harmonist. Soon, the mother got married again. The boy did not like the newly-born dad - he drank too much, and Yura kept running away from home.

In the third grade, mom placed her son in a boarding school - her heart failure worsened. Soon she died - she was only 29. The father did not express a great desire to be engaged in a son - he did not need the boy at all. The custody of Yura was taken by her own aunt, mother’s sister, but the wayward and not independent years old independent guy escaped from her and went to wander around her native Bashkiria.

The fate of the boy was decided by the commission: the boy was taken to an orphanage in a suburb of Orenburg. The director reacted to the kid with great warmth and participation, and when she was transferred to the same position in Orenburg, Yura fled after her. So the orphanage became a new stage in the biography of Yuri Shatunov

Yuri Shatunov and "Affectionate May"

Would Shatunov become so famous if not for the intricate interweaving of fate in his biography? In the Orenburg children's home, Jura met with the head of amateur performances, Sergei Kuznetsov. With him, he began to practice singing and invent songs. Thus began the life story of the group “Tender May”.

On New Year's Eve on December 30, 1986, Yura performed in the assembly hall of the boarding school. "White roses", "Grizzly night" ... The success is deafening! Since then, not a single disco has been complete without Tender May, and the public at the local house of culture has received them with a bang. Over the year, the composition of the group was formed from orphans, they recorded songs that subsequently brought unrealistic popularity.

The first album was released in 1988 - Kuznetsov sold it for 30 rubles to a recording stall at a local station. And in the fall I decided to go try my luck in Moscow. The restless Yura followed him.

The producer of the Mirage group, which was very popular at that time, bought the tape “Tender May” at the station and, listening to it on the train, decided to find a talented performer. He arrived in Orenburg, but Shatunov did not find him there: during the holidays, Yura visited with his aunt in the village.

But already that fall, Razin met him at the metropolitan train station: he agreed that the children from the group should be transferred to a Moscow boarding school. "Tender May" began a new life. Soon they went on their first tour of the cities of the USSR. The cassettes of the group flew like hot cakes, and popularity grew like a snowball.

In March of the following year, Sergey Kuznetsov left the group, and Razin himself became the producer. Yura did not work with him for long: in 1991 he decided to pursue a solo career. In 1992, Alla Pugacheva invited Shatunov to her “Christmas Meetings” - millions of viewers saw their idol on television.

In the 90s, Shatunov's popularity waned, but he continued to record songs, star in videos and tour. Needless to say, the world of show business was insecure at that time: in 1993, at the entrance to Shatunov’s house, his best friend, keyboardist of Tender May, Mikhail Sukhomlinov, was shot dead.

In the fall of 1996, Yuri Shatunov went on a tour of Germany and stayed there to live. At the same time, I decided to study there as a sound engineer. “Where did Shatunov go?” Meanwhile the Russian press blew. Rumors were different: he died, fell ill, married an American millionaire. All this was a lie. Except, perhaps, for hearing under the stamp "married"

Yuri Shatunov - personal life

In Germany, Yuri met his future wife Svetlana. They have been together for more than 15 years: they met on New Year's Eve, and they played the wedding only seven years later, after the birth of their son, Dennis was then four months old. The celebration took place in Frankfurt.

However, the Shatunovs do not forget their homeland; every summer they rest in their five-story cottage in Sochi. In 2007, they baptized their baby in a Sochi church - Andrey Razin became the godfather, Svetlana's godmother.

In March 2013, Yuri Shatunov changed his personal life: a daughter was born - Estella. Now all the happy family live in Germany, and periodically in Moscow.

Yuri Shatunov - Happy Together

43 year old singer Yuri Shatunov  have not been seen in public for a long time, and he does not please the army of Russian fans with his new compositions.

Correspondents decided to find out where the idol of the 90s now lives and what he does.

Yuri Shatunov for a long time disappeared from the field of view of the press, as the performer lives with his family in Germany and rarely comes to Russia.

Now Yuri is actively preparing for the New Year, like all Russian families, the artist greets this holiday merrily: with a decorated Christmas tree and Santa Claus. The whole family watches TV and on New Year's Eve Shatunov is not working. The singer believes that the New Year is the only family holiday that you can do without performances. Yuri understands that children dream of seeing parents together. Most of the time, the gentle May singer is on the road, on tour, so he misses almost all the family celebrations. But once a year he always stays with relatives - on New Year's Eve.

Together with her beloved wife Svetlana Shatunov, she is raising a ten-year-old son Dennis and a 3-year-old daughter Estella. According to the singer himself, he and his wife devote a lot of time to raising heirs and are actively involved in their education. Children gradually develop, and parents try to help them. Even when Yuri is on tour, he stays in touch with his family all the time. Children are well aware that dad is an artist, but they themselves do not ask for the stage, and Shatunov does not insist. On the contrary, he believes that they do not need it, since there is enough of one artist in the family.

Not so long ago, rumors began to circulate on the Web that Yuri Shatunov and his family intend to move to Crimea, but the singer denied these data, saying that they were not going to move anywhere. Yuri says that sometimes he finds out about himself things that he didn’t even think about. Previously, his family was very worried, but now he is more restrained about the news. At the end of the conversation with reporters, Shatunov admitted that he recently watched a paragram where an interesting phrase sounded: "If you watch TV, then you are misinformed." Yuri completely agrees with this statement.
